Water Buddy 3D – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026 Oct 05

Water Buddy 3D is a Chrome extension that reminds you to drink water by showing an animated 3D character on the page you are viewing. This policy explains what the extension stores and what it does not do.

What the extension stores

• Your settings: chosen character, bottle style, reminder message, the optional first name you type, reminder intervals, and whether reminders are on.
• Today's count of "Yes" and "Not yet" answers and the time of the next reminder.

Settings are saved with Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.sync), which Chrome may sync to your other devices if you are signed in to Chrome. The daily count is saved only on your device (chrome.storage.local).

What the extension does not do

• It does not send any data to the developer or any third party. It has no server.
• It does not read, collect or change the content of the websites you visit. It only adds its own reminder overlay and removes it after you answer.
• It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.
• It does not sell or share data.

Permissions

The extension uses Chrome permissions only for its reminder: alarms to schedule reminders, storage for your settings, scripting and access to websites to show the character on the page you are viewing when a reminder is due, and notifications to show the reminder on Chrome pages where extensions cannot draw.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes all data it stored. You can also clear today's count at any time with "Reset day" in the extension popup.
